I am a big fan of embossing folders. At the moment I am loving Stampin’ Up!’s Vintage Wallpaper (found on page 157 of Idea Book & Catalogue). For the flower, I embossed my cardstock by running it through my Big Shot machine and then sponged it with Concord Crush Classic Stampin’ Pad (found on page 120). I then ran it again through the Big Shot using Island Floral Bigz Dies to cut out the flower. I shaped the petals by curling it with a pencil for a 3D effect on my card. Isn’t it gorgeous? The background image on the card is the actual design of the embossing folder. By layering your card using this technique, you can create a card that is rich in texture in just minutes.
The Big Shot machine (found on page 155) is one of my best purchases from Stampin’ Up! The investment on this machine is worth every penny because it cuts and embosses all kinds of materials such as paper, fabric, foil, plastic, metal sheets, chipboard and many more. If you are a paper crafter, I highly recommend getting a Big Shot. You can place your order 24/7 and I can get it shipped directly to your door.
