Happy New Year

Today is Chinese New Year. I wish you all a successful Year of the Dragon. My eldest son is a dragon baby and he’s pretty excited that this is his year!

We had a very busy holiday season in our household so blogging had to take a back seat. Starting in February, I will be able to blog more often. I have a few things lined up for February. I am at the moment working on several card ideas and scrapbooking pages that I would like to share with you. So stay tuned and visit again soon.

Stamp Club is on February 8, Wednesday, 7.30-9.30 pm at my home in Ferntree Gully. We will be making a lovely birdhouse box and a technique card using one of the new stamp sets from the Summer Mini catalogue of Stampin’ Up!. Stamp Club is open to all my Stampin’ Up! friends and customers. Take advantage of Sale-a-Bration, starting 24 January- 31 March to purchase your stamps and supplies from Stampin’ Up!. Remember, for every $100 purchase, you are entitled to a stamp set, paper set or ribbon and brads set for  FREE.

During Sale-a-Bration, the starter kit is reduced to $249 (originally $289). If you have been thinking of a business for yourself  or just getting discounts for a hobby that you love, then why not take advantage of the reduced price and join the Stampin’ Up! family? Not only  will you enjoy the 20% commission and discounts for all your purchases but also the invaluable support and project ideas that Stampin’ Up! gives to demonstrators. Starting April 2012, Stampin’ Up! will reduce the minimum sales requirement per quarter to $400 (originally $500). That’s another incentive for you to join!

Kindly let me know if you would like to order from the Summer Mini Catalogue. Items in this catalogue will only be available until March 31. There is no guarantee that these items will be carried over to the new Idea Book in September. If you love it, then it’s best to order them before 31 March.

Thanks and hope to hear from you. Cheers!

December Stamp Club

Our monthly stamp club was last night and I’m so excited to share with you what we made! We got all Christmassy and had a fantastic time making snowflake tags. These are gifts in itself. Why not give them as your Christmas cards this year? These are also perfect to attach to gifts for that extra special touch. But wait, that’s not all…we also made a Christmas tree table ornament. So perfect to put in your dessert tray this holiday season.

I must mention too that the night wouldn’t have been complete with the gooey brownies and the fabulous Food for the Gods. Oh, there was wine too of course! Well done girls and I’ll see you in January for another Stamp Club!

If you would like to book a class to make the snowflake tag or the Christmas tree, let me know and I’d be happy to organise one for you. Anyway, I leave you with a picture of the Christmas Tree we made, followed by the snowflake tag. Enjoy and have a great day!

Set Of Cards Gift Bag

I had so much fun making this set. The bag is so easy to make. It just takes a few scoring on an A4 cardstock. A few snips here and there, some stamping here and there, some double-sided tape and you are done! Would you like to make a set to give away this Christmas? Let me know and we can make one in class. Look, I even managed to slip in a chocolate in the bag! I couldn’t resist giving away some sort of foodstuff :) Once you learn how to make this bag, you can make it all year long for any occasion. It makes gift giving more special because you made it yourself. Embellish as you wish with stamps, punchies, ribbons and tags. Fill it up with anything – lollies, cookies, crafty things etc.

Cost for this class is $20, all materials provided. Classes are held daily, 10am – 12 noon. If you wish to make this at night, let me know so I can organise a class for a group on the same night.

Water Stamping Technique

Here’s an easy technique to give your Christmas cards some “wow” factor. Spray some water on watercolor paper and stamp your image in a lighter shade of ink. Watch the color bleed around the paper then let dry for a few minutes. I like to speed up the process by using my heat tool to dry it. Then get a darker shade of ink and stamp your image again. Crop then stick on a coordinating card stock. So easy! It only takes a few minutes to make this card so it is something you can make in large quantities. Hope you try this technique today. Have fun and thanks for dropping by!

Supplies Used - Stampin’ Up! products found in the Idea Book and Catalogue; Cardstock – A4 White Confetti, Watercolor paper, A4 Wisteria Wonder, A4 Garden Green; Inks - Classic Stampin’ Pad Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush; Stamps - Snow Swirled, Four The Holidays.
